In unison with the mission of the congregation of Holy Cross, the mission of the Global Justice Committee is to be a voice for compassion - seeking justice in our close community, in Canada and in the wider world.

• Lutheran Outreach volunteers work under the auspices of the Global Justice Committee, providing food support for individuals and families in the Newmarket area, at Christmas and throughout the year.
• The LOV food support ministry assisted many individuals and families during 2008, usually with food vouchers but also with Christmas baskets. Approximately $2500 of support was given
• We started monthly meals at the Leslie Street residence in February 2008. We have found this ministry to be extremely rewarding, as we meet the residents and staff of this house managed by Crosslinks agency
• We have also supplied the Crosslinks van with clothing and food. The Crosslinks van provides outreach to the homeless throughtout York Region
• We continue in close support of the York Region Kairos group. An Earth Hour candlelight service was held at Christ Church Anglican in King City
